Greetings! This is the newest blog of Geoffrey Graybeal, aka “Graybs.”

I’m a doctoral mass communication student in the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia. I’m a Double Dawg, having also earned my master’s degree from UGA.

I’m also very much still a true (baby) blue Tar Heel. I’m a Tar Heel born and bred. A native North Carolinian, I have a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of North Carolina.

I’m a former newspaper reporter, youth page editor, food critic, reviewer, sportswriter and journalist extrordinaire turned journalism scholar. In my academic life, I teach an introductory newswriting lab in the Grady College and am an online journalism strategist.

I study and research the many facets of online journalism strategy, including aspects of youth and news, social media, management and economics, new business models, micropayments, marketing,  and entrepreneurship.

Newspapers, and scholastic and collegiate journalism are also on my research radar.  I’ll cover all that stuff in my CV, which I’ll eventually post here.

This blog will serve to highlight my research and teaching endeavors and adventures in journalism and mass communication.

Thanks for stopping by!
